Architectural Drafting

We offer full architectural permit drawings. With a background in residential design/build, your designer will provide all required drawings for the permit application process. We will coordinate all necessary engineering and survey documentation with you so you are ready to build. Or, if you’re planning a renovation project, we can help with that too! Studio Unit offers clear, organized, easy to follow, architectural drawings that are in-line with the current building code, and can even meet, or exceed, Net Zero building standards.

Interior Design

Studio Unit offers full service interior design. That means you have access to everything including concept, material + finish selection, drafting, realistic rendering, budgeting, and project management assistance. This process can be as hands on as you need; we can take you from start to finish, or it can be as simple as a few consulting hours. Even if you have a clear vision for your project, it is invaluable to have quality ‘mock-ups’ so you are confident in your choices. A designer can provide clear drawings that allow you and your sub-trades to stay on the same page, helping you save on both time and cost throughout your project.

Hey, I’m Julie.

I am an Architectural Technologist, Interior Designer, and founder of Studio Unit. I love forming the world around me and reimagining our built environment; Exploring ways to make our homes more sustainable, more beautiful, and more interesting. I graduated from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology with a diploma in Architectural Technology and I have a certificate in Interior Design from the Heritage School of Interior Design in Portland, OR. I am also Built Green Certified and love designing Net Zero homes.

Coming from a lighting, and design/build background, residential design is my passion. Our homes are such an integral part of our day-to-day process, and truly shape our lifestyle. Living in a cold climate zone means we spend most of our time indoors, so these spaces must not only meet our functional needs, but also provide us with psychological stimulation, physical reprieve, and a natural connection to the outdoors. It’s where our memories live - in collected objects that mark the passing of time, and spaces that host our cherished experiences.

My hope is to help you tell the story of your home with a thoughtful, and personalized approach and bring your vision to life in the most unique, and functional, way possible.
